With the development of economy and improvement of living, more and more people have high demands on wearing. The sense of beautification as well as being comfort is pursued day by day. Such properties of textiles as softness, heat preservation, fast-drying and light-weight become people's favorites in different occasions and climates. Hollow yarn is a kind of yarn which has high surface area, large covering area and high flexibility. We can develop textiles with special handle and style. The hollow yarn was made by using a kind of water soluble fiber as filling material when spinning, which formed special hollows after particular tensionless finishing. After tensionless finishing, the yarn has a certain binding power and can keep its hollow in the center.Firstly the paper measured the properties of the breaking strength, weight-lost and feather, after the cotton/vinylon blended yarn is dissolved in different conditions, discussed the relationships between dissolving time and such properties as breaking strength and weight-lost, and the effects of feather in the case of different bath ration.Secondly, it studies the differences of the properties of bursting strength, thermal insulation, permeability and fast-drying between hollow-yarn fabrics and general cotton fabrics, making contributions for pre-process technology.Thirdly it makes further discussion about all aspects of pre-process technology. We know the main parameters by single-factor experiments. The experimental results demonstrated that H2O2 consistency, NaOH consistency and time are the main effective factors, while the Na2SiO3 consistency, scouring agent, stable oxygen bleaching agent, bath ration and temperature have the minor effect. All these studies settled a good foundation for the technical design & establishing the regression equations to obtain a reasonable pre-process technology. The consistency of NaOH is 4.3950 g/L, the consistency of H2O2is 14.1455 g/L and the time is 43 minutes.At last, generally speaking, this kind of technology is reasonable after the study of properties of knitting fabrics by proper treatment.
