In recent years, with China's steel industry sustained high-speed development, the new completion of the modernization of the new rolling mill continues to increase, rapidly stimulating rollers manufacturing enterprises capacity expansion and technological transformation. High-chromium compound cast iron rollers are widely used in hot strip finishing mill earlier, and it is important to improve the wear resistance and the use of the reliability of High-chromium cast iron rollers. The main researches that this paper describes are as follows:1. When high chromium compound cast iron roll is developed, adopting a method of three times casting and twice times compounding. A transition layer is increased between outer high chromium cast iron and sandwich nodular iron, and achieves high tensile strength on the combination between the outer layer and middle layer, as well as the middle layer and the core of the combination's high tensile strength, in order to ensure that the use of roller is secure.2. The problem that chromium diffusion from outer high chromium cast iron to sandwich nodular iron is successfully solved, and achieve the high strength of sandwich nodular iron.3. A advanced composition design is adopted. Tensile strength, fracture toughness and wear resistance of material is increased by effective modification in the outer layer and middle layer materials.4. Requested body roll hardness and residual austenite content are obtained successfully through subcritical heat treatment or quenching and twice tempering.5. This paper gives the methods controlling various parameters of High-chromium cast iron rollers.6. The influence rule of different tempering temperature to hardness is obtained in the research.7. The factual purpose of using the rolls is given.
