Micro equipments become more and more popular, which means that we need larger batch of micro parts with lower cost. So the way using micro forming technology to manufacture micro parts has a more bright future. Good performance of amorphous alloys at room temperature attracted a lot of researchers. Usually the dimensions of amorphous alloy blanks are not over 10 mm, so amorphous alloys can only be used to make micro parts. Now, how to form amorphous alloy parts becomes the limit of the development of amorphous alloys. The micro forming performance of amorphous alloy Zr55Al10Cu5Ni30 is investigated in this paper, as summarized below:1. Using changing temperature DSC, the super cooled liquid region of the Zr55Al10Cu5Ni30 is conformed ;2. Using isothermal DSC, the relationship between temperature and holding time is determined. The forming time of an amorphous alloy part must be less than the holding time in order to keeping most of its structure amorphous.3. Upset experiments, with different strain rate, are carried out, the relationship among stress, strain, strain rate and temperature of Zr55Al10Cu5Ni30 in the super cooled liquid region are determined.4. By orthogonal experiments, how the performance parameters affect the micro filling ability and load is got, which will give a lot of support to do the later forming experiments.
