Azodicarbonamide(ADC)wastewater is containing of high ammonia component and several salinities, and it has not been eliminated efficiently. What's more, the researches of treatment the ADC wastewater have not a little appeared in magazines. In the paper, the laboratory researches have been done and the theory of biological nitrogen removal was discussed.According to ADC wastewater quality and quantity,it was decided to dispose of the wastewater in SBR process.Furthermore, the scheme to biological nitrogen removal experimentation in SBR was devised. In the first experimental phase, operation parameters were decided as a result of orthogonal experiments, and at the same time, effects of influent load on the removal rates in SBR system was studied. In the second experimental phase, dosing powered carbon(PAC) into SBR was tested to improve the characteristic of SBR process. The first phase experimental results showed that under the condition that alternating aerobic and anoxic, limited aerate, ammonia influent load being 0.023~0.086kg NH4+-N/m3·d,the highest removal rate of CODcr and NH4+-N could reach to 89.0%~91.9%和86.2%~89.8%respectively in sequencing batch reactor with a total of 32 hours of reaction time. The second phase of laboratory scale tests on SBR proved that dosing PAC could improve characteristics of mixed liquor, the removal rate of ammonia and the resistance to shock loads of bioreactor. In this paper,it was proved that ADC wastewater could be eliminated efficiently in SBR process. The present studies provide a technological reference for any other similar wastewater treatment in practice.
