Super iron concentrate (TFe>71%, SiO2 >2%) which technical content and additional value are high which is not only a deep process product of processing but also is a new kind of function material. And it is found wide use. The production of super iron concentrate is not only one of the ways of progress in science and technology for iron mine, but also is an efficient way to improve economic profit also. In this paper, the tests are to produce super iron concentrate using Anshan lean Magnetite and to investigate its application. The ore property that the principal metal mineral is magnetite and the gangue quartz is typical in Tangshan area. Through the tests, it is proved that the super iron concentrate with TFe 72.17% and SiO2 0.32% can be produced by the flowsheet of grinding-degritting-reverse flotation with acationic collector. In order to lower the SiO2 content the lixiviation experiment for super iron concentrate is carried out. The performance of HF that SiO2 content is 0.20% that is satisfactory. The iron oxide red for paint experiment on this top quality super iron concentrate is carried successfully. The method that the super iron concentrate and vitriol is calcined in 700~900℃is called half-vitriol. The quality of the iron oxide red is measure up to the standard. In addition, the mechanism of processing is analyzed. It includes the floatability of magnetite and quartz, the action mechanism of the floatation reagent on minerals,the influencing factor in floatation course and so on.
