In this paper, on base of the principal of plasma surface metallurgy, the model of plasma surface metallurgical machine which directed toward test equipment has been developed by theoretical analysis and 3D design tools, and the surface metallurgy been tested on the machine.The silicon commutating power supply being used in the machine according to the plasma surface metallurgy characteristic. The key part of the machine, plasma-jet has been developed after the full mathematical analysis.The four-spindle numerically controlled revolving table also has been developed, on this table multi-location and complex shape can be put in to effect, the necessary condition for the operation of the machine has been supplied by the table.The anti-interference numerical control system for plasma surface metallurgical machine also has been developed, in the system CPU226 one of the Siemens S7200 series is the slug. With the CPU226 , the main control panel is completed.On the machine the microstructure and performance of DC-Plasma-Jet surface metallurgy multiple tracks lap-joint coating are being studied. Some new results were appeared.Plasma surface multi-lap joint coating was attained on low carbon steel with Fe-Cr-C-SI-B alloy powders by lockage-powder-delivery DC-Plasma-Jet surface metallurgical equipment. The lap-joint proportion is 50%. Microstructure and performance were analyzed and detected on lap-joint, and rosette crystal grains are found in lap-joint area. The structures in this area are more fine and compact, and the hardness is increased.The function of plasma surface metallurgy can full be achieved on the machine, our design objective is achieved.
