Based on the present research and developing trend of modified asphalt in our country and outsides, this paper analyses the feasibility that use the waste plastic-package PE(Polyethylene) from urban waste as road bitumen modifier and the superiority that use the waste plastic-package PE as road bitumen modifier to deal with the waste plastics in the urban waste, and had a result that research the waste plastic-package PE as road bitumen modifier was not only had great importance to improve quality of road asphalt and reuse of the waste plastic-package PE from urban waste, but also had great necessity for our country's progress in road construction.This paper analyses waste plastic-package PE modified asphalt that improves quality in application of radices,analyses in detail that the changes of asphalt's properties before and after the modify by the waste plastic-package PE, confirmed the feasibility that use the waste plastic-package PE as road bitumen modifier. The studies are focused on the changes of modified asphalt's softening point, penetration and low-temperature ductility, and also analyses the experiment data, focused on the changes of modified asphalt's temperature-sensibility and high-and-low temperature performance. It confirmed that all of asphalt's properties had been improved, especially the temperature-sensibility and high temperature performance. Meanwhile, studied how the following factors effect the performance of the properties of he modified asphalt: different dosage of waste plastic-package PE, reaction temperature and residual time, and also optimize the process parameters.This paper analyses the mechanism of the waste plastic-package PE modified asphalt. From the mechanism of asphalt modify and the factors affect the modify results, modification mechanism can be analyzed. Analyses the mechanism of asphalt modify from three factors: compatibility, swelling and new structure of colloidal. Analyses the factors affect the modify results also from three factors: waste plastic-package PE modifier, matrix asphalt and modification.
