Research And Development Of Mould Fluxes In 20 Steel Bloom Continuous Casting

Mould fluxes have important effects to the formatting and surface quality of casting slab in the mould. With the progress on the technology of continuous casting, the relations between fluxes properties and casting smoothly the quality of casting slab are increase close. How to play the function of fluxes and ensure that continuous casting production will be qualified slab when cast different kinds of steel, it gets to the focus of mould fluxes design.In this paper, in view of the problem that longitudinal surface crack appearance easily and even get to sticking break in the progress of 20 steel bloom continuous casting, so improving the used flux to adaptive the technology of scene production. In library, melting point,melting rate,viscosity and crystallizing temperature of fluxes are determined and collated with components. Then, a new flux is established based on the primary one and the practical parameters. In the process of plant examinations, the new flux is used, the quality improving of the surface of casting bland is found and the percent of pass get to 100 percents, then the fluxes are produced abundantly to suppose 20 steel bloom continuous casting.
