The sheet metal parts of multi-intersected ducts and pipes are widely used in such industries as rock oil, natural gas, electric power, etc. It's traditional method for the unfolding of sheet metal parts of multi-intersected ducts and pipes is the geometry drawing method and the numeration method, whose disadvantages lie in complex, time taking, much overlapped work, low efficiency, low precision of the developed curve, etc. It is an effective technical method using computer-aided design software to complete the design process of sheet metal component, which can increase the efficiency and shorten the period of product development. The ultimate aim of unfolding a sheet-metal part is to obtain shape and size of the sheet metal by machining sheet-metal parts. The sizes of the sheet metal are not only structure and sizes of sheet-metal parts, but also technology and experience on the manufacturing process.This article takes the sheet metal parts of multi-intersected ducts and pipes as the research object, and develops the prototype CAD system for sheet metal parts based on manufacturing process. The major works by this paper include the following aspects:Chapter 1 introducing a review of the researches, Summarizing the domestic and foreign development present situation of sheet metal parts' CAD system and analyzing this topic research goal and research significance.Chapter 2 briefly introduces the exploitation manner and development tool of system , establishing ways of sheet metal unfolding system , discussing the design idea and method of whole structure, providing classification of sheet metal part. On this basis, the total construction of CAD software is designed for sheet metal parts. And described constituent function.In chapter 3, firstly explains the concept of the sheet-metal unfolding based on the manufacturing process. Secondly, deeply researched the technology and Experience knowledge based on manufacturing process of the sheet-metal parts, include plate of thickness treatment, welds of selecting and so on. The theory provides a theoretical basis and guiding for the sheet-metal unfolding based on the manufacturing process.In chapter 4, analysis and study method of spreading of the surface .Then a sheet metal unfolding algorithm based on manufacturing process is put forward.In chapter 5,with the key functions and specialties of the system are described by the example.Finally, conclusion is drawn from this dissertation with recommendation for future research.The practice shows that the system has the advantages of high efficiency, easy operation, high Accuracy of unrolled diagram, etc.
