In the 20th century the emerging CAN bus technology is broadly developed because of its many advantages. Now the technology has been applied in the automotive, medical, electricity, construction, security and many other fields, while the application of CAN bus technology is still in blank in the domestic printing industry. The application of CAN bus technology to printing equipment control system is mainly studied in the thesis.The printing process can be divided into three phases,i.e.printing pro-phase, printing and printing evening.The printing metaphase equipment - Offset and printing evening equipment - folding machine are selected as the study object. The practical manner about CAN bus technology in Offset and folding machine control system is discussed. The content researched in thesis has the important and practical significance for the development of printing industry.Firstly, the thesis introduces developmental situation and prospects about the entire printing industry, and focus on making a concluding summary for the applicable situation of the printing equipment - folding machine,and offset in domestic.Besides, the necessity about application CAN bus technology to the printing industry is discussed in the thesis.Then, from the basic theory and concept of CAN bus to the pivotal technology and applications about CAN bus communication, the thesis goes gradually deep into analysing and elaborating the CAN bus technology.The content provides a theoretical basis for the following work.In addition, the thesis shows in detail the main work in the research.The LCD display module for folding machine, motor-driven control module and block paper detect module are exploited by using PIC18F458 microcontroller technology, and design of hardware circuit and software procedure of the three module are accomplished, and the communication of data is achieved between each module.The PC control interface is designed so that folding machine model set of the folding machine can be achieve automatically by operating PC touch screen.Finally, the thesis introduces CANopen concept to the printing industry and the basis knowledge about CANopen in brief, and discusses the application of CANopen technology combined with the specific characteristics of printing industry in the printing industry.The CANopen technology belongs to application areas of the forefront, and it's also the future developmental direction for CAN bus technology. Achieving the CANopen application in the printing equipment can provide printing industry with more room for development.
