With the increasing global environmental deterioration, the environmentalprotection plays an increasingly important role in the achievement of sustainablehuman development strategies. Regional pollution management is a basic work inenvironmental management,and regional pollution sources have the features oftwo-dimensional geographical distribution and the massive complex data. Eventhough the existing environmental management system can use topologicaltechnology of GIS shows the geospatial information, but only as a showing tools,which can not fit the requirements of analysis and decision-making support. At thesame time, many scholars in the analysis of the sources of pollution often usedmultivariate statistical analysis methods to study the relationship between diversityand multi-data, which uncover the law between data and date. But the system whichintegrates GIS and multivariate statistical analysis methods has not yet appeared.This paper is based on the application of the powerful space managementcapability of GIS and multivariate statistical analysis to handle the various variables.And establish a regional pollution analysis system by using SuperMap Objects andVisual Basic 6.0 programming tools, and integrate the cluster analysis which is one ofthe important ways of multivariate statistical analysis. According to the result ofclustering analysis of a example, the paper tables a proposal and suggestions. Themethod to regional management on the developed platform combines cluster analysismodule will bring great convenience and reference to digital environmentManagement.This paper reviewed the development of geographic information systems andthe current research content, expounds the establishing of the regional pollutionsources of environmental management information system, including the systemdesign objectives, the development of thinking, systems design, functional design,database building and cluster analysis module integration process. Visual Basic 6.0 isthe basic development tools, combining SuperMap Objects 5.0 development platform,using SQL Server 2000 database to development of regional sources of environmentalmanagement systems, and integrated the cluster analysis methods integrated into thesystem. Using the spatial analysis of GIS technology and cluster analysis method, thepaper provides an effective management flat and an analysis tool. Choose a typicalregional pollution area, introduce the application of the cluster analysis approach in regional environmental management, and provide reference for the working methodsand patterns.This paper integrates cluster analysis method and GIS technology and establishesa regional pollution sources system of environmental management systems.Combining with the relative knowledge, explore a new way in the typical regionalenvironmental quality in other cities. At the same time, this paper provides a way forthe effective use of existing large number of environmental data, and provides acost-effective management of reference.
