Three titanium(IV)-substituted peroxo-heteropolyoxometalate salts based on the Keggin structure were synthesized and characterized by IR spectra, UV spectra and element analyses. The results are as follows:1. K5[PW11(TiO2)O39] and [CH3(CH2)15N(CH3)3]5[PW11(TiO2)O39] have been synthesized and characterized by IR,UV spectra and element analyses.2. K7[PW10(Ti02)2O38] and [CH3(CH2)15N(CH3)3]7[PW10(TiO2)2O38] have been synthesi -zed and characterized by IR,UV spectra and element analyses.3. K4[GeW10(TiO2)2O36] and [CH3(CH2)15N(CH3)3]4[GeW10(TiO2)2O36] have been synth -esized and characterized by IR,UV spectra and element analyses.4. We have chosen three kinds of peroxo-heteropolyoxometalate salts above as cata lysts to catalyze 2-Octanol to 2-Octanone. Also we have explored and optimized reaction conditions of the catalytic oxidation. The experiment results confirmed that the catalytic activity of titanium(IV)-substituted polyoxometalate salts enhanced with the number of Ti atoms increasing; the catalytic activity of quaternary ammonium salt was higher than that of potassium salts; the catalytic activity of P series was also higher than that of Ge series not only quaternary ammonium salt but also potassium salts.
