Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) are one of typical persistent organic pollutants which have the property of persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic. Electronic Waste disassembling was an important factor causing soil PCBs pollution. So this study was made to investigate the PCBs polltion status in the soils and phytoaccumulation of PCBs in Solanum nigrum and Herba Houttuyniae in electronic waste disassembling area with GPS location sampling and GC-ECD analysis methods. Also pot experiments were carried out to discuss the potential of Solanum nigrum and Herba Houttuyniae in remediation of PCBs polluted soil, which provide reference for remediation of soils in this area. The main results were as follows:(1) The method used in this study have low detection limits, high recovery, good repeatition , and stabilization, which can be used to analyse PCBs congener and concentration in soil and plant samples.(2) The PCBs pollution of soil around the electronic waste disassembling was casused by point pollution. The composition of PCBs congeners were mainly 3-5 chlorined PCBs. And the PCBs concentrations in different utilization soils were in the order of garden > paddy filed > wasteland > shrub > pot garden.(3) In the field survey, PCBs accumulation was remarkedly founded in Solanum nigrum, including highly chlorinated PCBs. Different pollution sources had obvious affection on the content of PCBs in Solanum nigrum . Pot experiment results showed that PCBs accumulated most in the root of the Solanum nigrum after 50 days.Soil PCBs removal rate in the planted treatment was about 20.1%,which was 8% higher than the unplanted treatment.(4) In the field survey, general PCBs accumulation was founded in the overground parts and the underground parts of Herba Houttuyniae, and the underground parts accumulated more than the overground parts. The PCBs content in the underground parts had a significant correlation with the PCBs content in the soils. Pot experiment results showed that PCBs accumulated obviously in the underground parts of Herba Houttuyniae after 90 days.Soil PCBs removal rate was about 22% in the planted treatment, which was 11% higher than the unplanted treatment.
