The Manufacture Of High Purity Chlorine Dioxide Gas Generator With Chemical Method

As a water treatment agent,germicide and disinfectant,bleaching agent ,chlorine dioxide has been widely used. But up to now, use of chlorine dioxide is limited on liquid chlorine dioxide. Application of gaseous chlorine dioxide in the country hasn't been reported yet.Based on the relevant literature of chlorine dioxide, by keeping to the principle of security to prevent the danger of the decomposition of chlorine dioxide or explosion with the influence of temperature, pressure, concentration determined from experiments to obtain the best technic conditions and referring to the pressure vessel design standards and norms, a set of chlorine dioxide gas installation was designed. The generator adopts the reaction of sodium chlorite and hydrochloric acid producing chlorine dioxide using chemic technics.The gas production of the generator is about 1.5 kg. Gas purity was above 95%. The design pressure of the reactor is 0.8Mpa. The design temperature is 40°C.The reactor of the main wall thickness is 15 mm. The main material is UPVC.The feed department containing flowmeter is designed to cast precision control of raw materials. The safety valve is fixed on the outlet of reactor which can prevent explosion of chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is acquired on the site. After being made, the gas is directly insufflated into the spot with assistant of air pump. Success of the generator can carry on application of gaseous chlorine dioxide in sterilization of rooms and food refreshment firstly. In short, the generator has advantages of high purity, high efficient, low costs, good safety, easy operation and so on.
