The transformation of railway signal is the key part for the safe working of railways, and the railway connector used for transforming signals is the fundamental facility to ensure the transformation of railway signals and reduce the unbalance of electric currents. Simple operations, high strength of welding and low cost are the advantages of the railway connector which is connected by explosive welding. This paper systemically studies the quality of welding, explosive noise and impact wave of explosive welding technology of railway connector analyzed from theories and experiments, the technology make use of military high velocity explosives, all of that provide foundation for the engineering application of this technology.The principle of explosive welding was used to theoretically calculate the jet formed when overbite and substrate impact under the condition of leaning placing, the upper and lower limit of the formation of jet was gained. This paper theoretically analyzed the boundary effect created during explosive welding and proposed the program to solve questions, studied the explosive welding of railway connector experimentally and examined the welding quality in detail from the outlook, tensile strength and the micro-structure of combination after welded, the examination indicated that the welding quality was reliable and met the requirements of engineer application. This research also analyzed the features and drawbacks of explosive noise, studied the measures to reduce the noise and took the suitable sound absorbing materials; the program of reducing the noise during the explosive welding of railway connector was fixed. Tests on the volume of noise which had protection or not during welding was taken and the finding showed that the use of protection can reduce the noise effectively; the conjures brought by impact wave produced when explosive welding and the fragment's quality appeared during the explosive of detonator were analyzed and calculated, and the solving measures was proposed to add the protection facility when welded.The achievement can improve the reliability of signal transformation and promote the applying transformation from the military industry to civil use. It meets the technological development police of"From military to civil", and meanwhile it can save the cost of maintenance and curing.
