α-zirconium phosphate (α-ZrP) , as an inorganic layered material, has excellent ion exchange function. These composites have recently attracted increasing attension because of its potential applications in new catalyst materials. It has obviously outstanding performance especially depending on size and morphology.In this thesis, three kinds of preparation methods forα-ZrP have been studied: HF complex method , hydrothermal treatment method and reflux method. And spray drying was adopted to synthesizeα-ZrP. The samples were investigated by X-ray powder diffractometer(XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), Scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed that in different methods, the highest degree of crystallization products was got by HF complex method. The degree of crystallization of the products were relatively low derived from the second method. The refux method, with the extension of refux time,could got the better crystallization. The samples involving separate nucleatioin and aging steps could got more better composites for sphereα-ZrP because the percurors were more united size,more integrity and more crystallizable. With the application of spray drying skin layer phosphoric acid zirconium colloid for dry shaped, the spherical phosphoric acid zirconium was received. This method promotedα-zirconium phosphate applications in industrial.
