The factors are complicated, which affect the rate of crystal convertion in the course of Calcination. In this paper,the research methods adopted are adding some kind of additive to hydrated titanium dioxide and calcining the mixture under high temperature. By means of X-ray diffraction, analyzing the results of experiments,and studying the transition regularity.The result of experiment shows that hydrated titanium dioxide can be transformed into rutile completely on proper condition. The effects of additives on the hydrated titanium dioxide--rutile transformation can be summarized that they can lower the temperature and shorten the conversion time. On the condition of the technology that selected ,the percentage of rutile and the whiteness are 98.9% and 97.68% respectively.
