In this dissertation, the relationship between the appearance of High-frequency Glow Discharge at different parameters were studied. Introducing a rheological technique to theorize the affiliation between input condition and the effect on the PP/PS interface. Try to introduce the St grafting onto the PP surface by using Glow Discharge treatment and improve the compatibility between PP/PS.Since many physical phenomenon are involved in the glow discharge, the analysis on related problems are involved for better understanding of surface treatment mechanism. Online detection of appearance during the process of glow discharge comes true in this thesis. Focus on the transformation of appearance under the condition of discharge. Researching the phenomenon of stratification theoretically and comparing the difference between the tube-plate and plate-plate electrode meanwhile. The result shows that the tube-plate electrode is more suitable for treating the sample whose size is smaller than the electrode and the plate-plate electrode is more efficient for the thin sample whose size is bigger than the electrode. The temporal change of complex viscosity* (η*) of the three plates which have been plasma treated with different gases (CO2, Ar, N2, CH4) was measured by a rotational rheometer. Establishing a new method of measurement and data analysis on the basis of Dynamic Time Sweep. Founding a direct relationship between input conditions and compatibility between the interface of PP and PS. In order to measure the procedure, I defined three parameters, Balance Time (Tb), Reaction Rate (Rr) and Reaction Degree (Rd). Through the analysis of the result, I found that Ar plasma is more efficient than the others but CO2 plasma is more economical and environmental friendly. I set 60V, 8 minute as the best input condition when using CO2 plasma treatment. Meanwhile, I testified the results of the surface treatment by using XPS method systematically.Styrene polymerization on glass and PP by glow plasma of carbon dioxide are investigated respectively. The study on XPS and FTIR show that the benzene only exist on the glass bass which shows that Styrene can be polymerized under CO2 plasma condition but using PP plate as bass is not suitable. The dynamic time sweep result also gave a good support.
