The pollution problem of heavy metal is an important field of environment science research in the soil now. The city zone soil is an emphasis component of city ecosystem. Because of population convergence, developed industry and crowded traffic, people movement consumingly impacts environment. Now more and more people care for the heavy metal pollution in the city zone soil. The heavy metal of different chemical species has diverse environment behavior and biology function, therefore, it is very significant that the pollution degree, the potential zoology harm degree, the information of the content and chemical species of the heavy metal of the city zone soil are evaluated.In this paper, superficial soil (Fluvo-aquic soils, Fluvo-aquic- Cinnamon soils, Cinnamon soils, Brown earths,etc.) samples were collected from 8 different function areas (the farmland, kaleyard, the entertainment and tour area, the traffic trunk, and industry area) in Jinan(including Licheng, Tianqiao, Huaiyin and Shizhong). The soil samples were treated with BCR procedure. The purpose of the procedure was to research the capacity and speciation of different heavy metals (Cd,Co,Cu,Mn,Ni,Pb,, Zn,As,Hg and Cr) in soil. The distribution character and the pollution source of the metals (Cd,Co,Cu,Mn,Ni,Pb,Zn,As,Hg and Cr) in the soil of Jinan were estimated elementarily.The results indicated that Cd,Co,Cu,Mn,Ni,Pb,Zn,As,Hg and Cr in the soil of Jinan were dominated by the residual fraction. The quantity of different heavy metal in soil is: Mn>As>Zn>Cr >Pb> Ni>Cu> Hg>Co> Cd. The soil had been polluted more or less. The pollution is relation to the large numbers of cars, pesticide and castoff with heavy metal etc..
