Incineration of municipal solid waste(MSW) can largely reduce the quality and volume of waste and the quantity of heat can be used effectively. So it's a better way to dispose of the waste besides the landfilling.In order to reveal how the composition of waste impact the combustion process of municipal solid waste, a fixed-bed is employed. Vegetables,paper card and sand are used to simulate the consists of contents of waste. We adjust the content of ash,moisture,volatile and fixed carbon through adjusting the proportion of vegetables,paper card and sand. The incineration experiments are done through increasing the ash or moisture contents and keeping the other contents and the condition of experiment the same. The differences in combustion speed, temperature variety of furnace, gas component, NOx concentration and so on in the combustion progress of waste are reflected through comparing the different experiments. Then, gas in a typical combustion experiment are gathered and analyzed with GC/MSD apparatus.The experiment result shows that the ash impacts the combustion seriously. When the ash content reaches 57% and quantity of waste heat , the waste can't be burnt. With the increasing of ash, the combustion speed reduces, the temperature increasing speed drops, the blaze plane reducing speed drops and the moisture evaporation and volatile matter devolatilizaton need more time. The moisture impacts the combustion seriously too. With the increasing of moisture , the waste evaporation needs more energy and time, the temperature rising inside the furnace becomes slowly, the zone of combustion in furnace height shrinks and the combustion speed reduces seriously. But the increasing of moisture can make the CO content drop and the waste is burnt completely. So moisture can improve the efficiency of waste combustion.The impact of ash and moisture on the gas of NO mostly represents that they impact the combustion speed of N in carbon. Simultaneity, the ash and the moisture get indirect impact on NO through impact the concentration of O2. So with the increasing of ash and moisture, the devolatilizaton of NO fluctuate largely.The gas of CH4,C2H4 and C2H6 changing rules are get through analyzing the gas of waste combustion with the GC/MSD apparatus. The results show that these gas are produced when the waste pyrogenation progress are carrying on and the CH4 concentration are very high. The devolatilizaton of HCN is depended on the degree of volatile matter.Through the experiment research, the impact the composition changing on the incineration of waste can be better held and the experiment results can be used to amend the mathematics model and be consulted by the application in project.
