In this topic, the application and development of finging agent and decolorization agent of glass are introduced. Rare earth composite addition had important significance for glass.The topic of this paper was about fining and decolorization of Na2O-CaO-SiO2 flat Glass. Little Na2SO4, CeO2, Ce2(CO3)3, were chosen as addition .The optimal kind of addition and content were determined by comparison with the fining and decolorization effects. The study suggested that using single fining agent couldn't satisfy the fining require of Na2O-CaO-SiO2 flat Glass. When Ce2(CO3)3 or CeO2 was compounded with Na2SO4 used as addition, the fining and decolorization effect, apparent quality and transmissivity could be greatly improved. This was because Ce2(CO3)3 or CeO2 was mainly used to eliminate fineseeds and having glass decolored, while the function of Na2SO4 was to remove bubbles.Comparative results indicate that Na2SO4-Ce2(CO3)3 compound agent is better than Na2SO4-CeO2 compound agent on the effect of fining and decolorizat-ion ,Which is mainly because CO2 chang the atmosphere of stoves.There were synergistic effect on Na2SO4 and Ce2(CO3)3, which depends on the content of Na2SO4, and the best point is 2.5%.In this essay, effects of kinds of addition on comprehension properties such as density, visible light transmittance and UV transmittance were furtherly researched. Addition had less influence on density. But they had obviouse effet on visible light transmittance and UV transmittance of glass.
