In this thesis, the development of emulsion polymerization theory is comprehensively reviewed, and the synthetic technologies of acrylate latex modified by organosilicon both at home and abroad are also reviewed. A series of stable organosilicon-acrylate elastic latex was prepared by preemulsified addition in high sheering, and the performance of the product was studied. The major raw materials used to synthesize organosilicon-acrylate latex are vinyl siloxane, D4 and acrylate. A small fraction of organosilicon side groups were incorporated into acrylic main chains via copolymerization. The hydroxyl oligomer organosilicon was then grafted to the main chains via the condense reaction of D4 with hydrolyzed organsilicon groups. The effect of surfactant system, initiator, temperature, cross linking monomer, ratio of acrylate and content of siloxane on the stable polymerization process were investigated, therefore, the basic processing parameters and production formula were determined. The composition and properties such as particle morphology, particle size and its distribution of the obtained silicone-acrylate latex were characterized. The effect of organosilicon monomer content on the performances of resulting latex film was investigated by its transparence, mechanical elastics, water absorption, heat resistance and IR, the results show that the general performances of silicone-acrylate latex film are improved with increase of silicone content in monomers, and the latex film has excellent performance when the silicone content get to 20% of total monomers. In addition, 2-Acrylanmido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid(AMPS)was used as reactive surfactant to modify the polymerization of siloxane acrylate copolymeric elastic emulsion. Influence of AMPS on the mechanical properties of latex film and stability of emulsion was studied. Testing results showed that AMPS used as reactive surfactant could reduce the content of conventional emulsifier, because AMPS molecule can combine with the surface of particles with covalent bond, which to a great extent increasing the stability of latex. In the meanwhile, the emulsion film prepared has good extension strength and elastics when the content of AMPS in the reactive system got to 4%.
