Supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) is a promising technique for the treatment of organic wastes. The properties (including hydrogen bonding, density, thermal conductivity, diffusion coefficient et al) of supercritical water(SCW) were presented. The characteristic of supercritical water oxidation and the industrial application and the technical expectation of supercritical water oxidation were discussed in detail, and the universal research works on the degradation efficiency, influential factors, oxidation kinetics and reaction mechanism of the organic pollutant in SCWO and water's effect in SCWO were reviewed in the paper.1.Supercritical Oxidation can achieve great effects on organic decomposition. On experimental conditions, the COD elimination effects of the high concentration organic can exceed 99%.2.The higher temperature, pressure and longer residence time can promote the COD elimination effects. Among these factors, temperature and residence time have greater influence on the COD elimination effects, but the pressure's influence is weak comparatively.3.The global kinetics for DDNP disappearance was described by a rate law and Experimental data was the analysed by non-linear regression that the organic reaction rate a, the oxygen reaction rate b and activation energy Ea were solved. Kinetic equation was as follows:x=1-(1+(133-1)2k[COD]0.33[O2]0.21t)-3.03a=1.33, b=0.21, Ea=30.7 KJ/mol.
