Laser-chemical combined etching is a new processing method which combines laser processing and chemical eroding. This process ablates the materials which are chiefly applied by laser energy, uses the corrosive liquids heated by the laser to erode on the processing surface at the same time. Thus its processing efficiency and surface quality have been improved.Systemic experiments of laser-chemical combined etching on several hard-to-machine materials had been carried out with pulsed Nd:YAG laser, inorganic acids as corrosive liquid. The processing technics and mechanism of laser- chemical combined etching were studied. The major contents are followings:(1) It was studied and analyzed systematically how the laser technological paraments and paraments of corrosive liquids affected the eclipsed quantity and quality of processing surface in laser-chemical combined etching. The bigger laser energy and pulse width is, the more eclipsed quantity and the more rough processing surface; The slower scanning speed is, the more eclipsed quantity and the better processing surface; When the repetition rate increased, the etching quantity increased first and then decreased, meanwhile the quality of processing surface improved; The higher concentration of corrosive liquids and the faster flow is, the more eclipsed quantity and the better processing surface.(2) The simulation maps of every physical course in the laser-chemical combined etching were analyzed and simulated. Processing surfaces were analyzed with spectrum, based on their composition spectrum analysis curve, then chemical reaction processes were analyzed and studied in combined processing to different materials with different corrosive liquids. Micro processing surface shapes on same materials with different corrosive liquids and different materials with same corrosive liquid applied laser-chemical combined etching were contrasted and analyzed.The research of laser-chemical combined etching will give us an efficient combined processing method to process the hard-to-machine material, which shows that this technique has important theoretic meaning and highly applying value.
