Solid phase Extraction is a sample pretreatment technology developed in the early 1970s. It's based on the separation theory of liquid chromatography. When samples pass through the column, the research objects and impurity are reserved. The impurity are later removed by proper solvent, and the research objects are eluted by eluant. SPE has been demonstrated to have many advantages comparing with traditional methods, such as fast, high efficiency, high selectivity and so on. It has been widely used in pharmacy, clinical medicine, food, environment and many other fields. Since large volume sample have to be treated in environmental water analysis, SPE is especially suitable for analysis of organic pollutants in water samples. In this paper, a method for determination of organic pollutants has been established by HPLC with SPE. In this study, D4020 macro-reticulate resin was used for the first time as an absorbent for organic pollutants in water. Through the chose of SPE conditions which include the pH value of water sample, load speed, elution speed, etc, the optimum inspection conditions were obtained. In the experiments of HPLC, the gradient elution and isometric elution of different ratio were compared. The determination results of water samples in Yanshan petrochemical were satisfactory. The newly established method is simple, fast, sensitive, economical and easy to popularize.
