Recently, high anti-slip performance and low rolling resistance of tires has become research focus in the tire industry field. because it is a characteristic closely related to the fuel consumption efficiency and CO2 emission of motor vehicles. Rolling resistance is primarily related to the hysteresis loss in the tire tread compounds and silica .we should to synthesize the copolymers which can strongly interact with silica in order to reduce the hysteresis loss. According to the principle of anioic polymerization and controllable structure, functionalized group is attached to end of SBR by in-situ technology, which is more efficient to enhance the interaction between copolymers and silica.In this study, cyclohexane is used as solvent ,THF is used as structure regulator, 3-chloropropyltrimethoxy siloxane is used as functionalized agents to synthesize functionalized SBR with alkoxysilyl group, then silica is added in the solvent to react with the alkoxysilyl group.we establish the model to calculate the end-functionalized efficiency . After investigation the influence of the molar ratio of 3-chloropropyltrimethoxy siloxane and initiator,end-functionalized time,end-functionalized temperature and molecule weight to the end-functionalized efficiency , the optimum condition is fixed.Through the performance test, the physical mechanical properties and dynamical mechanical properties of end-functionalized SBR is better than non- functionalized SBR.
