Friction performance of ceramic friction material samples was tested. The friction layer was characterized by SEM and EDX.The friction performance of different friction formulations was compared by friction performance test. The experimental results indicate that as improvement of friction performance as concerned, MoS2 is excellent, natural graphite is good, and Sb2S3 is fair. The best formulations were obtained. When the percentage of solid lubricants was 5.6 vol. % , the performance of ceramic friction material was best. The weight loss of three solid lubricants were measured in air by the method of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The result showed that the thermo behavior of solid lubricants played an important role in friction process.
