Titanium dioxide powder is one kind of the most important inorganic white pigment, the component is titanium dioxide,and molecular formula is TiO2.Whose chemical property is very stability,and not insoluble in water,organic acid and weak mineral acid, may dissolve in oil of vitriol,alkali and hydrofluoric acid.The commodity has pigment level titanium dioxide and no-pigment level titanium dioxide.Pigment level titanium dioxide has two resembles:one is Rutile type titanium dioxide,the lightfastness is very strong,applies to fabrication coating material and products outside;another kind is the Anatase type titanium dioxide;lightfastness are relatively weaker,being used to make interior coating material and products.Titanium dioxide is widely used in coating material industry,printing ink industry,rubber industry,paper industry and chemical fiber industry useful work pigment outside,mechanical industry for fabrication welding rod, insulator and electroceramics and so on.The production method has two kinds mainly now,one is the sulfuric acid method, another kind is a chlorination process.Our country now mainly uses the sulfuric acid method.But the sulfuric acid method produces large amount of waste residues from titanium white acid hydrolysis,the waste residues include 42.26%about titanium dioxide after the analysis,there is the big recycling value.Thetechnology of leaching with hydrochloric acid(1+10) and acidolysis with sulphuric acid(90%) have been studied.The separation of titanium and iron is attained by leaching with hydrochloric acid (1+10) at first.The concentration of sulphuric acid at acidolysis is 90%.The titanium dioxide was produced by hydrolysis.Acidolysis fluid of waste residues returns as raw material to produce in the craft.
