The original production process can't meet the requirement of the new equipments and new systems, when the 1200 ton/year penicillin production line was used. Due to bad crystal habit, distribution and fluidity of the product, the"filtrodry"operated unnormally together with the product quality not being stable and the difficulty of preparation separation. The design technic index and production capacity can't be achieved. In this paper the key process of the production of benzylpenicillin sodium was discussed in detail in both theory and experiments, and was set up .In this thesis, the traditional tank acidic extraction was replaced by configuration extraction. the process parameter was optimized by considering various factor in the extraction, the operation flexibility with different material was improved and the quality and yield of the intermediates were increased.The crystal habit of benzylpenicillin sodium was studied by experiments, the technology parameter of crystallization was determinated and the relative equipment renovated. As a result, the crystal habit being not uniform, easy to break and wide particle sizes distribution were solved.The relationship between the different operation condition from filtration, washing and drying and filtration velocity, drying time and crystal habit was gotten by experiment. The problems mentioned above relating to operation, crystal habit, particle size distribution and flow ability were solved. The"filtrodry"system of automatic discharge and separating run normally.The process was successfully used in industrial manufacture of benzylpenicillin sodium. The big particle size and narrow distribution of the benzylpenicillin sodium crystal was produced, and the flow ability of the product was also improved, and adapts to the requirement of separation entirely. The quality of the product keeps the leading level in the country. It is the first time that the entire hermetic childbirth system introduced to aseptic active pharmaceutical ingredient (API)- benzylpenicillin sodium was realized. The productivity of the process exceeds the design capacity, and the technic index was increased dramatically together with notably economy and social benefit.
