In the process of phase transition, Materials can absorb or release abundant heat energy, accordingly can achieve the storage and release of energy and improvement of actual effect of utilization. Based on properties of materials, people can develop diversified phase change materials (PCMs) which can apply in many fields including the building, solar energy, exhaust heat, exhaust cool and so on.The article discussed and analyzed solid-liquid-equilibrium (S-L-E) of organic compound system. In the experiment, the solid-liquid transition temperature (Tm) and melting enthalpy (ΔH) of paraffin, ethylenediamine/1,6-hexane diamine and 1,4-butanediol/1,6-Hexanediol were measured by DSC. And then plotted the T-X diagram of 1,4-butanediol/1,6-Hexanediol system. The results shows, only taking into account Tm andΔH, that the later two can come into being room temperature PCM. At the same time, we used the relation on ideal state to predict the S-L-E of 1,4-butanediol/1,6-Hexanediol system. The result was compared with experimental data. The two have a certain extent consistency. Consequently,this offer theoretical basis for quickly obtaining binary system phase change materials.Finally, we tested the periodic stability of materials by DSC. The result indicates that 1,4-butanediol/1,6-Hexanediol system exhibits a good performance in the aspect.As to the synthesis of 1,3-diphenylbutane, the intent was to prepare to study the thermodynamics properties of polymer/ solvent system.Benzene has been alkylated with 1,3-dibromobutane with aluminum chloride. This is a typical F-C Alkylation. The 2,3-diphenylbutaneproduct was obtained by the means of distillation and recrystallization.GC-MS was used to characterize the product. The results showed that the reaction is very complicated, and the proportion of the object product was too low, and their boiling points are close. It was very difficult for us not able to obtain some pure 1,3 and 1,4-diphenylbutane.
