Kapton film is a very important polymer which widely application on spacecraft as thermal control coating. In space environment, the performance of Kapton film will directly affects the reliability and life of the spacecraft. Research on damage effects of electron irradiation on Kapton film in the space environment has important engineering background and theoretical research value. This paper studied damage effects of electron irradiation on Kapton film ,electron energy was 70,90,110 and 150 keV,Radiation dose was 1×1015,2×1015,5×1015,1×1016 and 2×1016cm-2.КИФКSpace Comprehensive Environmental simulator was used for electronic irradiation, Kapton film's properties were Researched before and after radiation, and used UV-visible spectroscopy, XPS, AFM and FTIR analysis the properties changed and chemical changed in the structure before and after the irradiation .Research found that after electron irradiation Kapton film's Transmittance degradation mainly occurred in5001200nm wavelength, with electron irradiation dose increased, the absorption coefficient increased, especially in the 420540 nm wavelength we can foud absorption peaks and with the radiation dose increased the peak increased more high. we found with radiation energy increasing peak height increased, This may be due to electron irradiation led to the Kapton film Bond broken and reorganization, and formation radicals or cations and anions, With radiation energy or radiation dose increased these groups's quantity and type increased, resulting in the reduction of optical transmittance.Micro-analysis showed that with irradiation dose or irradiation energy increased, carbon content in the surface increased, Surface carbon accumulation led to surface hardness increased, rittle increased and the material optical transmittance reduced.XPS analysis showed electron irradiation Kapton film will lead the chemical structure of the C-N, C-O bond broken, C = O bond broken and restructured, and may be some bond crosslinked.And with the radiation dose or radiation energy increased more C-N bond, C = O bond disappeared, Although electron irradiation can made C-N, C-O bond broken, C = O bond broken or reorganization, But that cannot make all of these three bonds disappeared.AFM analysis found with radiation dose increased surface roughness increasing, XRD analysis found that after electron irradiation film's crystallization reduced.
