Block Leng41 in Liaohe Oilfield is a super heavy oil reservoir with active edge water and bottom water, and it is produced with steam stimulation at present. The edge water and bottom water invasion in oil wells has always been companied by the whole process of reservoir development. With steam injection cycles increase, the problem of water invasion in the well becomes more and more severe, which significantly affects the oil production of the Block. The edge water-out and bottom water-out is the key factor affecting oil production in the block. This paper gives the research of static knowledge of edge water and bottom water. On the basis of static analysis of water-out regular pattern and water-out rate during each phase of reservoir development as well as the edge water-out and bottom water-out effects on steam huff & puff, the effective water control and water management methods have been proposed for extending effective period of huff and puff and improving steam stimulation results to get reasonable and efficient development of Block Leng41. In terms of geologic features of Block Leng41, a high temperature profile control agent silicate clay gel/resin fly ash complex water plugging agent with high strength has been developed. With this kind of complex plugging agent, three staged water plugging barriers with low, medium and high strength are formed, having good temperature resistance and high plugging strength to control edge water and bottom water coning. In field application, the incremental oil and the water reduction have been obtained and the damage due to edge water-out and bottom water-out has been resolved. The purposes of keeping oil production stable and water control have been achieved.
