With the wide application of CAD/CAM and other related technologies, traditional design and production methods have been thoroughly innovated, which improves the productivity and brings greater economic benefit, but the commercial CAD/CAM software is not satisfied on some functions. This subject carries out a research on the applied technology of CAD/CAM in UG environment, to UG in the complex surface numerical control processing aspect function's development and the consummation, has carried on the exploration and the research by UG's redevelopment functions.This paper uses the reverse engineering principle firstly, and uses the coordinate measuring machines to carry on the superficial data for the free surface sample workpiece in kind gathering, obtains the parts list flour dim sum cloud data. Uses Surface Generation Software Imageware on point cloud processing by removing noise, the section of the surface fairing parts, and other steps to generate a digital surface model, generates free-form surface based on scanning curves. Has provided a reliable digitized model for the following work.Continue improving the free-form surface and compiles the processing procedure. This paper carries out a research on the cutting pattern of free-form surfaces, it including linear feed pattern, circular feed pattern and gyroidal feed pattern. Uses UG re-development software UG/Open GRIP compiles numerical control processing craft regular procedure, establishes tool-path plan system in view of the rough machining. This system entrusts with the computer to be certain knowledge reasoning ability, the free surface regularization, optimized the technological parameter according to the shape characteristic and the craft characteristic. And it has realized that read commercial CAD/CAM software's CLS document, carries on the production, the examination to the tool-path, has provided the powerful condition for the following processing. Then generates the NC code part by UG's post processor UG /POST Through to the components of the digitization model computer-aided design and the processing process's research, supplies certain reference function for the UG redevelopment and the reverse engineering in the actual production's application.
