With the great discovery of deep gas reservoir in wells Xushen 1 and Xushen 6, it becomes the next major development area of Daqing Oilfield to explore and develop the deep gas reservoirs in northern Song Liao Basin. Currently most intermediate casings are set at Quan 2 section or above. Because of the growth of mud shale, it is very likely to meet with a lot of difficulties such as formation collapse and constrictions etc, which impedes the drilling operations greatly. Therefore it becomes necessary to conduct the research of well hole stability technology on the intermediate casing sections of deep wells to satisfy the drilling operation needs.Three pressure evaluation profiles built in Xujia Weizi Area are analyzed and optimum drilling fluid is studied and recommended. With improved drilling fluid system and associated engineering precaution measures, most incidents meet with in sections of Quan 2 and above such as formation collapse, constrictions and drill pipe sticking etc will be prevented. A complete set of incident prevention measures and risk control technologies are introduced, which suits the deep well intermediate casing operations.
