Through the research it was found out that many process factors, such as characteristics of base asphalt and SBS, shearing time and shearing velocity, would in different extent affect the compatibility of the SBS and base asphalt resulting in an orderly variation in the regular properties of the modified asphalt which would finally affect the performance of the modified asphalt. Through using SBS separately to the 140# straight distillation, the 100# straight distillation, 90# partly oxidized three kind of matrix asphalt to carry on the modified experiment, through has selected three kind of different trademark SBS414P, SBS 411P and SBS 501P has carried on the asphalt modification experiment, through the different operating condition to the 100# straight-run pitch to the modified asphalt performance influence experiment, as well as through the modifier and the flux paraphrase solubility and the modified asphaltic nature influence experiment.From the selection experiments of raw material and modifier can obtain conclusions: Looked from each modified target synthesis situation that, the 140# straight-run pitch modified improvement effect is best Linear SBS the 501P modifier is big to the penetration and the low temperature ductility improvement function, but star SBS the 411P modifier the influence slightly is big to the softening point. From the experiments of operating condition can obtain conclusions: By no means shear velocity is higher in the modified asphalt preparation, the pellet is thinner is better. The increase of shear time is advantageous to improve test specimen performance. Although the growth time the paraphrase soluble improvement is also influential, but affects is not very obvious. Joins the quantity along with SBS the increase, the modified asphalt test specimen dynamic viscosity along with it increase, in particular its dynamic viscosity change is also bigger under the low temperature. It was shown that the addition of the solubility additive plays an important role in improving the storage stability of the modified asphalt due to the increased compatibility of the SBS and asphalt.
