Aluminum bronze was widely applied on ship and other industry because of good anti-corrosion performance, but occured to dealloying corrosion in the sea water. Although the aluminum bronze have been paid more attention on corrosion behavior, there were less study on the theory of dealloying corrosion, moreover, the requirement of aluminum bronze performance was increased harshly in application field, therefore the research on its performance, specially on the strength and corrosion resistance applied in the sea water environment, was very necessary.Reinforced cast aluminum bronze by modified nano-SiC powders have been designed and prepared in this paper. The feasible and low cost of process was carried out to propare reinforced cast aluminum bronze,which had good mechanical performance and use characteristics for future industory manufacturing.The microstructures,property of mechenical and corrision resistance were studied; the theory of strengthening and corrision resistance were discussed.Microstructures and properties of the samples are investigated and discussed by optical microscope, SEM, and mechanical testing. The results show that the casting structures and fractograph of the samples are obviously refined, and theβphase is comparatively reduced, while the strength and toughness are increased by 14% and 51% respectively, and the ductile fractures are obtained.The corrosion situation of reinforced cast aluminum bronze carried on in the acid solution,alkali solution and salt solutionthe were investigated and discussed by static immersing corrosion and electrochemistry test.The result showed that the corrosion rate of aluminum bronze reduced as the addition of nano-SiC powders increasing in the FeCl3+HCl solution; the tendency of corrosion rate of aluminum bronze reduced first,then increased as the addition of nano-SiC powders increasing in the 3.5%NaCl solution.when the addition of the nano-SiC powders was 0.01%,the corrosion rate of aluminum bronze was minimum value which reduced 13% compared with the original aluminum bronze. The conclusion of static state corrosion rate and polarized experiment was consistent.the corrosion rate of aluminum bronze reduced as the addition of nano-SiC powders increasing in the HCl solution and 3.5% NH4Cl solution.
