In mechanical products, the vast majority of parts and components are achieved through cutting, and in machining systems, the reasonable choices of cutting parameters will directly affect the quality of products, production cycles, production costs, and the economic benefits of the entire system. Therefore, as the market competition is becoming increasingly fierce, it is imperative that the scientific and rational means are taken to choose the optimal combination of cutting parameter.This paper takes the machining processes of the axle box of DZ44 Bogie as subject investigated, in view of the optimization problems of cutting parameter, taking the greatest production efficiency as the firstly optimizing objective and the lowest cost of production as the secondly optimizing objective of the multi-objective optimization criteria, the mathematical models and constraints equation of the multi-step processes manufacturing system, developed on the basis of the further optimization objective mathematical model of the process, is established. According to the optimization model of cutting parameter, through the research of optimization technology, the paper, using numerical optimization technology and non-numerical optimization technology (Genetic Algorithm), has processing the majorized combination (cutting speed and feed rate) of cutting parameter.The optimization results of cutting parameter are gradually applied in the actual production, in accordance to the market demand, the enterprise can make decision rapidly to product, and it have laid the foundation for the automated production.it is useful for enterprises to seek to maximize the economic benefits. The main research results are as follows:1. Using numerical optimization techniques to achieve the unconstrained optimum solution of the cutting speed in multi-processes manufacturing system, the optimization criterion of the key processes is given under different identified methods, and the best method of cutting speed in the relaxation process.2. Establishing mathematical models and constraint equations in multi-process manufacturing system, and giving the numerical analysis methods optimized combination of cutting parameter.3. The modern intelligent optimization technology is studied, the non-numerical optimization (GA) is achieved to reach the optimized combination of cutting parameter in multi-process manufacturing system.4. Taking machining processes of journal box as an example, and using the C# programming language, the cutting parameter optimization procedures, based on the preparation of numerical and non - numerical optimization technology, are provided, and the optimized combination of cutting parameter can be reached in multi-process manufacturing system. 5. The uniform design idear is used in the test program design of the drilling process, through visual analysis of test data, showing the optimization thinking of cutting parameter to be correct.
