In color paper printing, ink quantity is one of the main factors that affect the qualities of image. Thus, ink quantity control has become the main content to adjust printing machine and qualities. Nowadays, most color paper companies in our country still use old method such as artificial measurement, manual adjustment and single-machine operation, which causes low qualities of image, waste of paper and oil and low efficiency. In order to solve these problems above, this project studies on the ink quantity pre-configuration algorithm.As intelligent optimization algorithm is a new rising subject during these years, our main goal is to study the relationship between digital image of color paper and ink thickness based on Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithms. Based on the mechanism of basic Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm, it is used to solve this problem and testifying its validity by introducing adaptive inertia weight and shrinking factor. Besides, Genetic Algorithm is also used to solve this problem and analyze the effects of fitness function, crossover probability and mutation probability to the algorithm when solving the problem. Finally, a software system of ink quantity pre-configuration is designed and a nice interface between people and computer is built. According to the requirements, different algorithms are used and the computation of ink quantity is realized. Meanwhile, an interface between software and hardware equipments is programmed and the real-time control of ink quantity is realized.
