On the basis of comprehensive analysis of recent research status of computer-aided tolerancing both in China and abroad, binding State Natural Science Foundation of China (50505046) ,and Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province (Y107738) , robust tolerance design technology based on the fuzzy quality loss is studied.In chapter 1, the research and development status of computer-aided tolerancing and tolerance design method are introduced. The research and development of robust tolerance design method for quality and their applications in tolerance design are summarized. Finally, the main contents and general structure of this dissertation are given.In chapter 2, firstly, the methods of robust design are discussed. Robust design methods, including DOE (Design Of Experiment) and engineering model, are introduced. Finally the general steps of robust design are given.In chapter 3, on the basis of fuzzy theory, a new fuzzy quality loss model is developed. Accroding to the concept of fuzzy quality, a novel fuzzy quality loss cost is proposed based on the analysis of quality classification.In chapter 4, the robust tolerance design method is discussed using a random model. First the random model and its mathematical description of the design elements are introduced; then tolerance robust design model is studied.In chapter 5, robust tolerance design system based on the random model is build. An example is studied to demonstrate the proposed theory and method.In chapter 6, the review and conclusions of this thesis are summarized and the future research work of robust tolerance design method is prospected.
