Fixed abrasive wire saw is recognized as one of the best methods in cutting large size semiconductor chip and function crystal because of its incomparable advantages. In contrast with current methods of fixing abrasive on wire, electroplating fixed abrasive wire saw has advantages, such as shorter in production cycle, lower in production costs, better heat-resistant performance and better abrasion performance. As the composite electroplating technology is the key element of the manufacture and application of fixed diamond wire saw, a composite electroplating technology of fixed diamond wire saw is studied according to demands of cutting brickie hard crystal materials and the peculiarity of the composite electroplating in this dissertation.According to the method and the performance of the wire saw demanded in application, 316L stainless steel wire is chosen to be the core of the wire saw, and diamond abrasives as the second phase abrasive. The pretreatment method is designed.The high speed sulphamate nickel-based electrolyte is chosen as basal electrolyte, the influence of pulse-reverse current wave form's parameters on the micro-hardness of the nickel deposit is studied by orthogonal experiments. The result of the experiment shows that the quality of the nickel deposit obtained by the pulse-reverse current is better than the direct current and single pulse current; the frequency of the pulse-reverse current and reverse current ratio is the main influence factors on the micro-hardness of the nickel deposit. Based on the results of experiments, the suitable plating parameters to obtain the hardest plating layer are selected.A continuously electroplating apparatus is designed and manufactured; a continuously electroplating scheme is designed and practiced as well. Different methods of adding diamond particles into electrolyte and the positions of the wire and anode in plating process are investigated by experiments. The results show that compared with suspending method, the particulate covered method can obtain better composite coatings; two anode symmetrical position method can improve current distribution on the wire surface, then obtain better composite coating.The surface quality of the fixed diamond wire saw produced in the experiment is tested and evaluated; the cutting performance of the wire saw obtained in the experiment is studied. The results show that: the fixed diamond wire has good dimensional homogeneity; the area percentage of diamond particles on the composite plating layer surface is above 50%, diamond particles are held in the coating tightly; the wire saw has good cutting efficiency, precision and small kerfs better than the commercial wire saw.
