Presently, Satellite alloy pad-weld roll has been extensively used when dealing with the major damageable parts of the rolling equipment, such as rollers, wrapper rollers and pinch rolls. It is a material difficult to process because of properties of high strength, strong ductility and low radiation. The traditional machining process is "rough turning→detection→half finish turning→grinding", which not only lowers the work's fatigue strength and production rate but also increases the energy consumption. For such circumstances, this essay explores the green manufacture process of Satellite alloy pad-weld roll machining, which attributing to theoretical significance and relatively important practical values.Firstly, the microstructure research of Satellite alloy pad-weld roll shows that its interior structure is "austenite+δferrite+ eutectic". With such structure, there will form complex WC and W2C hard phases when welding, which can enhance the wear resistance and high temperature rigidity of the welding layer.Secondly, the author analyses the charicteristic of stellite alloy welding roll, and demonstrates its practicability.On the base,the author builds up the new manufacture process.Thirdly, through the in-depth analysis of hard alloy, coating technology, ceramics and PCBN cutting materials, it is believed that PCBN cutting tool is the most favorable option for rough and finish turning of Satellite alloy pad-weld roll.Furthermore, PCBN cutting tool has been implemented a series of cutting force experiments with Satellite alloy pad-weld roll on CA6140 lathe of frequency control of motor speed. The experimental results can provide a theoretical reference for the preparation of PCBN cutting tool's structure and cutting edge, for the option of cutting parameter and for the control of cutting process, which has an important referential value in instructing the manufacture practice.Finally the author explores the hard cutting force with an attempt to enact the rough and finish new turning process, especially to determine the cutting tool and parameter of Satellite alloy pad-weld roll rough turning, to design a special cutting tool of finish turning and to ensure the cutting parameter.
