Tube structure has a characteristic of high intension, high stiffness, economization and beautiful figure. Moreover, it has a good machining performance. The application of tubing is very wide. Tubing is the most type of section steel used in cars and motorcycles except panel.It is called secondary machining of tubing that getting goods by machining to tubing. For short, it is called tubing machining. Plastic working is one of main methods of tubing machining. It is an important extension and improvement to traditional plastic working technique. It can meet the request for goods'lightweight and obdurability, low consume, high precision, etc.Stamping is an important content of plastic deformation of tubing. But for the particularity of tube structure, tubing stamping sometimes has a difficulty in die structure and control to distortion of section. Tubing stamping can bring problems such as dent on tube wall, distortion of section, and so on. All of these make it difficult to get a complicated section shape and sometimes make tubing stamping cannot be used. For the moment no paper has a systemic research about influence rules to dent on tube wall of all kinds of parameters in tubing stamping.As panel deformation, it is hard to get valuable results to explain plastic working of tubing by traditional analytic method. Make the most of FEM will be an important development direction in study of plastic working of tubing.The paper focuses on the problem of dent on tube wall because it is the biggest problem that affects quality of tubing stamping. This paper aims at shearing of tube with linear end and stamping of tube with arc-shaped end. This paper educes influence rules to dent on tube wall of various parameters and optimizes some parameters by combining theory analysis and FEM. Through polynomial fit to influence curves, the paper attains influence curve equations of some parameters to dent on tube wall. This provides academic references for improving deformation quality.For the sake of simulations'safety and high precision, the paper brings forward some tips in simulations of great deformation process containing fracture by DEFORM-3D and gives the operation methods in this paper.
