1920s, study on simulation technology in injection molding had begun all over the world. Up to now, it has come out many commercial injection molding simulation software, including Moldflow from Australia MOLDFLOW corp. and C-Mold from America AC-Tech corp.In this paper, combining with Pro/e, application of software has been studied by taking MPI model part of Moldflow as work flat-top building. Gating system and process parameters have been optimized by simulating one part of Printer Nozzle, and optimum results are satisfied and experiment schemes are feasible.This paper studies flow analysis on the basis of surface model, and makes a detailed research by leading into surface model to take the place of conventional mid-plane model after a short summary of developmental general situation of injection molding technology, research work mainly include several parts below:①On the basis of theory of mold design, this paper have made a brief and concise introduction for general steps on CAE analysis, and discussed the common defects of injection molding and improvement scheme.②Math model for describing filling flow of melt plastic is introduced, including mainly in-cavity math model and boundary conditions of flow simulation is also assumed.③Best gate location of product is analyzed by making use of MPI model part. Improvement methods on some defects such as shot weight, weld line are brought up, and the location and number of gate are improved according to practical situation.④Flow analysis, packing analysis and warp analysis are performed. Then warp analysis and optimum calculation are performed by using the experimental design of Taguchi method, and the optimum set of effective method factors are obtained finally by single factor analysis of warp deflection.⑤Injection mold is designed by Pro/e and other tools, and an analogy on experiment results and practical situation is completed, so flow simulation is effective and correct.
