| Along with the research of Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) thorough, more and more processes have been continuously innovated, and functions have been constantly expanded and improved. So far, BAF has been widely used in wastewater treatment, water supply treatment, micro-polluted raw water, as well as reclaimed water reuse and other fields. However, the same as other water supply and drainage designs, the design calculation of BAF has been conducted manually. In the view of disadvantages of BAF such as superabundant design parameters, complicated calculation formulas, repeated checking, heavy workload, the primary objective of this subject is to develop a rapid, efficient, intelligent Biological Aerated Filter Design System (BAFDS), which integrates advanced theories and technology of environmental engineering and computer science, so as to enhance efficiency, reduce labor intensity.On the premise of BAF calculation method and design parameters confirmed, the FORTRAN language and Visual Basic6.0 have been mixed to be software development tools based on the Windows XP system. At first FORTRAN language is used for compiler to achieve high accuracy and speed, and then the design parameters, data and calculated results of FORTRAN can be transmitted to the Visual Basic6.0 to complete man-machine interface design in the way of data sharing. Characteristics and advantages of each language can be fully utilized by this way.Combined with practical engineering design, the visualization software BAFDS supplies a simple and rapid tool to designers. BAFDS not only includes the basic modules such as file, view, calculation and help, but also adds a code module which is made up of increasing or deleting operators, modifying passwords to guarantee the security of the software. BAFDS can offer common functions like date input, automatic calculation, date output, print and so on. In addition, BAFDS also supplies some useful functions such as design datas and standards consultant, sending and receiving, network inquiry, which may give designers more engineering information about BAF.In the end, the above theories, methods and system have been applied to the Xinhui sewage treatment plant located in Guangzhou systematically and successfully. The applied results indicate that BAFDS is convenient and reliable, which has extensive application prospect. |
