In the activated sludge process, lots of microorganism decompose plenty of organic compounds, make wastewater disposed, and produce plenty of sludge at the same time. The concentration of organic compounds affect the production of sludge and the charge of process which directly affecting the set's size and the cost of whole system. Finding some new methods to improving the traditional wastewater treating process which can both get high quality effluent and reduce charge and cost of whole treatment is good to wastewater treatment progress. This paper based on the excellence adsorbing ability of sludge tries to find out a new wastewater treating method which using the sludge adsorption as working process. The experiments in this paper research the characters of sludge adsorbing suspended solid and organic compounds in wastewater which are affected by the concentration of sludge, organic compounds and DO, then simulating the course of sludge refluxing to the different position of first sedimentation tank. The sludge can remove the suspended solid and the dissolve organic compounds by the action of its adsorbing. The remove rate of the suspended solid is better than another one. Dealing with aerobic treatment in a circumstance of low concentration of DO can improve the sludge's adsorption. When the DO was 0.5mg/L and the aerobic time was 0.5h, also the mixed liquid concentration was 2500mg/L, the activated sludge removal rate can be the best condition. If the sludge mixed with the wastewater, the settlement speed of mixture will be faster. In the simulation of the process which refluxing sludge into the sedimentation pool, the charge of effluent is the lowest if put the sludge into the middle of the sedimentation area. Then the time of sludge settlement and remove rate of organic compounds in wastewater are both excellent, and the organic charge of wastewater in after process will be obviously reduced. This conclusion will support a lot to the study and application of a new wastewater treating process which using the adsorption of sludge.
