Reference material is used to test and calibrate apparatus, evaluate measure method, ensure sample values. It's important in industry measurement, controling of products quality and science studying. Refractoriness-under-load reference material for high temperature performance refractory has been researched in this paper. Basic characteristic and action were introduced. According to reference material characteristic, quartz glass was chosen to be a suitable reference material.Uniformity and stability were checked in National Quality Supervise and inspection center for refractory. F-test was used to test the uniformity of the sample. After the uniform and stability testing, stability testing and reliable laboratories were chosen to test results . The data provided by the laboratories were used to fix the true value. According to technical judgment errors, the failed testing data in laboratory has been omitted. The qualified laboratory data by technical judgement were used to Grubb's test. By comparing the standard deviation with the value from the average test data, the date difference of among the laboratories and the system error introduced by unknown reasons were detected. By comparing variance, Cochran test method was used to confirm whether there is the system error introduced by unknown reasons. Mandel was used to confirm whether the random error introduced by the participate laboratories is near to the random error introduced by other joint laboratories under a rehabilitation condition. Through the above tests , it was confirmed that there were no abnormal data. The average value was calculated and its uncertainty was evaluated. The average value and expansion of uncertainty were expressed as standard values of load soften temperature of the reference material. Results shown that as the refrence material for refratoriness-under-load, the selected quarta glass is good in uniformity and stability. The standard value is 1368℃and the expanded uncertainty is 15.21℃at 95 confidence level when the data was fixed and calculated by seven labs.
