Urban river is most important for urban ecological environment and take great part in urban development which is the most unique scenery and the lifeline of national economy and citizens life. The thesis put forward eco-landscape design idea on the base of nature and improving environment and aiming to construct harmonious relationship of human and water.The thesis re-survey urban river from eco-landscape design angle through the example of water environment management in the world and the environmental requirement to improve urban ecological environment and citizen life. It put forwards such measures as ecological-priority rule of using resource and circumstance, diversity and pertinence of management methods, paying attention to improving water quality, circumstance and ecosystem and so on.By literature and theory analysis, theory frame of water environment management and landscape design of the urban river is build which point out it should base on sustainable development, aim at building ecological city, use landscape ecological idea, follow the principle of adjusting measures to local conditions, diverse stable landscape and to coordinate ecology, landscape, society and economy.By example of water environment management and landscape design of the urban river in China especial in Shandong province it put forwards that it's essential is eco-landscape design. Eco-landscape design give us the measures of water environment management and landscape design of the urban river including respecting nature, renew the watercourse, making local and colorful design and constructing human and harmonious river ecological system.We take Sha-dun river in Rizhao as the case to validate and modify our research. By on-the-spot investigation and primary data analysis theory frame of water environment management and landscape design of the urban river is validated and modified.
