Application Research And Development Of OPC Technology Based On MTX CNC System

MTX CNC system is the new generation of open CNC system that had developed by Bosch Rexroth and is one of the most advanced of CNC system on the performance in the world. MTX CNC system has a good openness and the OPC server that providing the powerful tools on the secondary development to system functions. In this paper, applying the OPC technology conducted a secondary development to the HMI of the MTX CNC system, the object of the secondary development is the special NC process machine, the result of the secondary development expand the functions of the HMI in the MTX CNC system that achieve completely control to the MTX CNC system.OPC is the short name of OLE for Process Control, that is, Embedding technology of Object Linking on process control, which is a very popular data exchange technology on the field of process control at present, which is open middleware communication technology that achieve the information exchange between device-level in scene and management-level in process control and openness for control system. The paper described the OPC technology standard,produced background,development history, present application and future forecast, amply described and analyzed the principle of the OPC server and the communication criterion between the OPC server and the Customer Service Client. It is introduced that using the OPC technical criterion and Visual Basic6.0 began to develop OPC client of OPC sever in the MTX numerical control system. The developed client can control and gather the data of in the MTX system; complete monitoring field device of the MTX system and so on. The result of the comparison that the data of OPC client between the VB developed client and the MTX system itself proved that the works of the OPC client developed by VB is reliable and satisfied the data output rate what we wanted, also displayed more openness.Based on the condition of developed client program, it is introduced that designing the project of HMI of the special purpose machine that applying to the MTX system. The result of the development is that reading the real-time data of MTX system,monitoring PLC variables,calling and editing NC program,displaying NC program and completing fault diagnosis and help functions,etc.The job of this article has the important practical value for developing application control system of numerical control machine that have special features and characteristics, and created the conditions that expanding the function of the MTX system.
