Yarn tension is an important parameter for quality and efficiency in textile processes. The more the yarn tension vibrates, the worse the yarn quality is. The yarn tension will affect the appearance and comfort of the products made of the yarn. So the yarn tension is needed to be measured and controlled in the textile processes to limit the vibration of the yarn tension.A great majority of yarns are tensioned by primitive means, resulting in loss of production and inferior quality at home. There are equipments that can measure the yarn tension real-time at abroad, but they are expensive and secrecy to us. It is urgency to research and develop the real-time yarn tension measurement system for the domestic needs, so it is analyzed deeply and comprehensively for the real-time yarn tension measurement in the paper, including the yarn tension sensor, data acquisition and the design of the system software.In sensor, it is analyzed and reviewed the principle and sort of the yarn sensor; the strain gauge yarn sensor is selected as the solution at last. From the structure design of the elastic solid to the static and dynamic analysis, there are a lot of work have been done for the research.It is found that there are some disadvantages and drawbacks in the data acquisition in current system from the results of the research; the yarn tension signal is filtered with the new filter algorithm which is developed from the lifting scheme. With the emulation of the algorithm, it is found that the algorithm can remove the noise effectively. The new technique is advanced by contrast to the relative technique abroad.Nowadays, the abroad yarn tension measurement and control system just focuses on the yarn tension. According to the actual craftsmanship, the new measurement and control system is proposed, monitoring the temperature of the heater, velocity of the roller and the winding tension besides the yarn tension. The new system will ensure the stability of the yarn quality more effectively.
