Based on the combination of anaerobic ammonium oxidation (ANAMMOX) technology and biofilter reactor, novel wastewater treatment technics by ANAMMOX biofilter is used in this subject. With the second bio-treatment domestic wastewater effluent, nitrogen removal efficiency of ANAMMOX biofilter, influence factors of ANAMMOX biofilter and reaction mechanism and performance of ANAMMOX biofilter are studied. Major findings are included as follows.Well nitrogen removal effect is obtained by ANAMMOX biofilter using in the advanced treatment of municipal wastewater. On the condition of 25~40mg/L NH4+-N influent and 34~55mg/L NO2--N influent, NH4+-N effluent concentration is 0.15~2.85mg/L, NO2--N effluent concentration is 0.96~2.86mg/L; Average NH4+-N and NO2--N removal rate are 97.67% and 95.73% respectively.Influences of substrate concentration and temperature on the ANAMMOX biofilter are investigated. Increaseing NO2--N concentration in some degree could help shorten ANAMMOX process, but too high may inhibit the process. 1.34:1 is the appropriate NO2--N: NH4+-N. Removal rate of NH4+-N and ammonium volume load increases as the temperature getting higher.Variation of influent and effluent pH is studied. Effluent pH is higher than the influent, and△pH could reflect TN removal rate because of the plus relationship between△pH and TN removal rate.The mechanism of ANAMMOX bio-membrane is discussed, and its variation is observed macroscopically. Mutual ANAMMOX sludge is dark red, and along with the depth of biofilter the red color is thinner.The performance of nitrogen removal by ANAMMOX biofilter is evaluated, and therefore nitrogen removal high efficiency portion of biofilter is determined. However, it needs farther experiments to determine the effective depth.
